The journal aims to provide a venue for high-quality scientific papers, including original theoretical or practice-oriented research and extended versions of previously published conference papers. Papers are selected through a double-blind peer-review process to ensure originality, relevance, and readability.
Spectrum of Operational Research publishes research articles, reviews, short communications, and case studies. Research articles should include the motivation for the work, a literature overview, a clear statement of novelty, theoretical background, examples, and conclusions. Short communications: 4–7 pages; research articles & case studies: 8–14 pages; reviews: longer.
Authors must follow the Spectrum of Operational Research formatting guidelines. Extensions of previously published conference papers must contain sufficient new material, including new results, key expansions, examples, and elaborations.
The principal aim of the journal is to bring together the latest research and development in various fields of decision science. Papers should refer to the Aims and Scope but are not limited to them.
